Abbey Niezgoda is a multimedia journalist with a passion for working both behind and in front of the camera. She is currently a reporter for WVIT-TV NBC Connecticut in West Hartford. Abbey is a two-time Outstanding Video Journalist Emmy® nominee (Boston-New England Chapter: 2012, 2013).

Previously, Abbey was a multimedia journalist for WLNE-TV ABC6 in Providence, RI. She's covered everything from the Boston Marathon bombings, to the arrest of NFL star Aaron Hernandez to the Blizzard of 2013. When she's not chasing breaking news, Abbey is always looking for the next untold story. One of her most memorable assignments was spending time with Rhana Flemming, a young gymnast suddenly paralyzed by a mysterious illness.

Abbey was an anchor/reporter for WERS 88.9 FM for four years, providing news updates every half hour during the morning and afternoon commutes. She also produced long form pieces for You Are Here, a weekly public affairs show on WERS.

Originally from Houston, Abbey graduated from Emerson College and considers New England home.
